The Mississippi Collector Registry software enables Mississippi Department of
Health personnel to electronically collect, manage, and report Trauma
System data. Data is used to identify, design and implement mechanisms to
reduce trauma, ultimately improving health care for the citizens of
Mississippi.
The software application assists hospital staff with
performance improvement activities within the hospital. The data collected
allows the hospital to monitor and improve its trauma program, as well as
track trauma patients that are transported to and/or from their
facilities. This data that a Trauma Center must capture is required in
order to maintain an effective trauma program. The application also
enables the hospital to submit its data via VPN to the State’s
database and it enables the regions to pull data from the State’s
database for hospitals in their respective region. The region can use the
data to develop and monitor pre-hospital triage protocols, transfer
agreements, and policies. The State can also use the data to generate
statistical reports for use in injury prevention activities, legislative
initiatives, and monitoring of the Trauma Care Trust Fund. In addition,
the State submits its data to the National Trauma Data Bank which is the
largest aggregation of trauma registry data ever assembled. It contains
over 2 million records from trauma centers in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
The goal of the NTDB is to inform the medical community, the public, and
decision makers about a wide variety of issues that characterize the
current state of care for injured persons. For more information on NTDB

Trauma Registry Standard Reports
Collector’s integrated Report Writer and Query Tool allow users
to perform both simple and advanced queries and data analysis easily,
without database or programming skills. Standard user reports include Z
score, TRISS, ISS, ACS Audit summary and many more. These reports help the
user identify performance improvement issues at their local Trauma Center.
Digital Innovation’s Collector provides the ability to include any
additional reports that are specified by the user based on any data field
populated in the system. These reports can also identify injury prevention
areas the Trauma Center should focus on. The Collector system also has
considerable capabilities for performing regional and central-site
analysis on aggregated trauma registry data with many unique user-friendly
features.
