Conducting Community-Based Regional Roundtable Discussions

Conducting Community-Based Regional Roundtable Discussions to Understand Cancer Differences between Counties and Regions

Purpose: To encourage greater communication and activity between state comprehensive cancer control coalitions and Appalachian communities.

Funds are available to organizations and coalitions to support discussion roundtables that explore similarities and differences in cancer rates, cancer control activities, resources and environmental issues. These roundtables will engage regional stakeholders in identifying issues and challenges, discussing priorities, and recruiting new members and partners to the local implementation process of cancer control activities.

Up to $2,500 is available to support the costs of roundtables. Nine grants are still available.

Eligible applicants must represent a commitment to a combined sponsorship of roundtable discussions that include Appalachian community organizations (such as health departments, regional development districts, regional cancer centers, affiliates of national cancer partners) AND the state's Comprehensive Cancer Control Coalition or regional coalition of the state coalition.
