  On-site Wastewater (Subdivisions) Regulations    view/download    [32KB] pdf
Regulations governing subdivision review and onsite systems serving multi-family dwellings, manufactured home developments and RV campgrounds.
  On-site Wastewater (Septic) Regulations    view/download    [122KB] pdf
Regulations governing individual onsite wastewater disposal
Septic Tank and Aerobic Treatment Plant Design Standards     view/download    [78KB] pdf
The treatment units available for individual onsite wastewater disposal systems are the septic tank and the aerobic treatment unit. These treatment units differ due to the conditions in the tanks that break down the sewage.
Design Standard III: Aggregate Replacement Disposal Systems    view/download    [687KB] pdf
Large diameter, multi-pipe, expanded polystyrene, and chamber subsurface disposal systems
Subsurface Drip Disposal Systems, Design Standards     view/download    [144KB] pdf
Has three basic design principles different from conventional subsurface disposal systems. They are (1) uniform distribution of effluent, (2) dosing and resting cycles and (3)shallow placement of trenches.
Elevated Sand Mound Disposal Systems, Design Standards    view/download    [92KB] pdf
These guidelines present requisite site characteristics, design criteria, and construction techniques for on-site mound sewage systems. These guidelines provide a systematic approach to mound system design for typical domestic household wastewater.
Plant Rock Filter Systems, Design Standards    view/download    [181KB] pdf
May be utilized as an overland/containment system on sites where soil and site conditions prohibit the installation of a conventional or modified subsurface disposal system. In suitable soils, a plant rock filter may utilize underground absorption.
Spray Irrigation Systems, Design Standards     view/download    [33KB] pdf
Has two basic design principles different from other surface disposal systems. They are uniform distribution of effluent over a large area, and dosing and resting cycles.
Sand Filter Systems, Design Standards     view/download    [49KB] pdf
Used to polish effluents from septic tanks or aerobic treatment process with the final disposition of the effluent disposal by land application. Sand filters can be constructed as a standard or alternative (shallow) filter.
Lagoons (Oxidation Ponds), Design Standards     view/download    [22KB] pdf
Lagoons or oxidation ponds are best described as waste stabilization ponds. The principle work of treatment is accomplished by aerobic bacteria which oxidize the organic carbon in the sewage to carbon dioxide.
Overland Discharge, Design Standards     view/download    [254KB] pdf
Overland discharge may be spray irrigation, point discharge or discharge via a manifold. Careful evaluation of the site, soils and geographical conditions are necessary to prevent runoff, erosion, groundwater pollution and nuisance conditions.
Disinfection, Design Standards     view/download    [14KB] pdf
The discharge of treated wastewater must be disinfected if the effluent will be disposed of by means of a surface discharge (overland or spray disposal). The predominant form of disinfection in use today is chlorine.
Pumps and Pump Chambers, Design Standards    view/download    [8KB] pdf
Effluent pumping is required in cases where the disposal site is at a higher elevation than the treatment facility or the disposal system is one that utilizes pressure distribution. In these cases the effluent must be moved using pumps.
Non-waterborne Wastewater Systems, Design Standards    view/download    [39KB] pdf
In remote areas of the State or certain transient or temporary locations, the use of non-waterborne systems such as sanitary pit privies, portable toilets, incinerating toilets, composting toilets, and related sewage disposal systems may be approved.
Aggregate Disposal Systems    view/download    [1MB] pdf
Subsurface disposal system that utilize gravel, crushed stone, tire chips or other approved aggregate media
Recreational Vehicle Campground Regulations    view/download    [43KB] pdf
The purpose of this regulation is to establish minimum design/construction standards regarding sanitary facilities, and to establish requirements for persons engaged in the operation of Recreational Vehicle Campgrounds (RV Campgrounds).
