| Mississippi Department of Health Announces New District Administrator |
November 2, 2005 — The Mississippi Department of Health is announcing the selection of Robert C. Aldridge of Gulfport for the position of District Administrator for Public Health District VII.
District VII is composed of the following counties: Adams, Amite, Franklin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Pike, Walthall, and Wilkinson.
As a District Administrator, Aldridge will be responsible for managing personnel, district budgets and clinic operations.
Previously Aldridge held the position of Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC) Distribution Supervisor in Gulfport.
Aldridge joined the MDH as a civilian retiree of the United States Air Force. He brings over two decades of managerial experience to his position as District Administrator.
He hopes to implement some of the management techniques he has learned throughout his long career.
"I'm a believer in working smarter using existing technologies and modern managerial techniques," said Aldridge. "I believe in quality management principles and hope to implement initiatives within the district to improve efficiency, effectiveness and performance."
Aldridge said that he is eager to begin work in District VII.
"The staff of District VII has a reputation for excellence," said Aldridge. "I'm looking forward to meeting them."
State Health Officer Dr. Brian Amy expressed pleasure that Aldridge would be joining the District VII team.
"I anticipate that Mr. Aldridge will do a fine job of providing quality public health services to the people of his district," said Amy. "We are very happy to have him."
