Background
Geneva Cannon, MHS, RN, has over 20 years of experience as a pediatric nurse in critical care, public health, and administration. She joined the Genetics Program as a nurse in the 1980's. After acting as the MDH Child Health nurse consultant, she became the Program Coordinator in the planning and implementation of the separate insurance plan for the state's Children's Health Insurance Program. She has also served as Director of Licensure and Practice with the Mississippi Board of Nursing. In May 2003 she was named Director of Child and Adolescent Health Services at MDH.
